I'm not forcing anyone to, but if you really want to then come and talk about the Wii at http://aussiewii.freeforums.org/index.php - it's really happening here.

There's virtually no mindless spam which seems to be what I've been getting on other forums related to the Wii.

Hello people.

I own a Wii. I only bought it on Monday for $388 +extended warranty. I have no games yet but have ordered a few.

I was also on the Nintendo DS AU Community.

Is anyone here using the wifi usb connector? If so what version software...

Has anyone considered creating Mii's that resemble the cast and characters from The Big Lebowski and playing Wii Bowling? (edit: I just realised there's animations of the first bowling alley sequence from the movie on the net.)

Are we giving out friend codes yet?

Nintendo Australia to replace wrist straps - here's how! [Dec. 21st, 2006|04:02 pm]

Taken from Nintendo Australia's site

Wii Remote Wrist Strap Replacement Information

Nintendo is offering to replace the original version of the wrist straps for the Wii Remote with a newer version. We have received some reports that when consumers swing the Wii Remote with the original version of the wrist strap using excessive force and accidentally let go, the cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break, potentially causing the Wii Remote to fly across the room. Because some of the Wii consoles shipped in early December utilise the original version of the wrist strap, you will need to determine which version of the wrist strap you have before requesting a replacement. Please see the diagram below to determine if you have the original version of the wrist strap. If your Wii Remote already has the new version of the wrist strap it is not necessary to replace it. The newer wrist strap is thicker than the original version.

To request a replacement wrist strap, contact NINTENDO CUSTOMER SERVICE on (03) 9730 9822 Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (EST).

To check whether your remote has the new or old strap, click here.

The Forecast Channel for your Wii is now live everywhere, head to the main menu load up the empty Forecast Channel and hit update, after a while your Wii will be updated and the Forecast Channel usable.

After updating, the forecast channel works and you will be asked to confirm the time and date, then your state, then the city within your state. You can access a 5 day forecast, UV index and of course spin the globe to find the weather in other parts of the world.

and in other BIG news:

Its seems those rumours were true and the beta of the Opera Browser will be launching this Friday on Dec 22. To download the beta browser all you’ll need to do is make sure you have activated the Wii Shop channel and download a free beta version of the Opera browser to activate the Internet Channel of the Wii Menu and begin surfing the Web.

The final version of the Opera browser will be available at the end of March 2007, and will be free for all Wii owners to download through the end of June 2007. After June, users who haven’t already downloaded the Opera browser can go to the Wii Shop Channel to download it for 500 Wii Points.$7.50AU)

Members,
When making posts concerning the plot-lines, bosses and finer details of games, please put any potential spoilers behind an LJ cut (info on LJ cuts can be found here.) however trivial the details may seem to you.
A lot of people are playing Twilight Princess and other games right now and would appreciate being able to read their friends list without seeing 'OMG in that part where the boss comes out and you hit him three times...' etc etc etc.

Thanks!
